WHAT WE DELIVER

Six anchors across in-network billing, the bridge, and self-pay transparency.

Insurance and fees here are built around six anchors. Direct in-network billing for twelve confirmed Florida plans drives the default path. The Grow Therapy bridge covers BCBS Florida and Humana while credentialing finishes. Self-pay rates are posted — the price you see is the price you pay.

12 in-network FL plans

Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Florida Medicaid, AvMed, Evernorth, TRICARE, M-Care, Cuare, HP, Paramount — billed directly at contracted rates.

Grow Therapy bridge — BCBS + Humana

BCBS Florida and Humana are in active credentialing. Members are seen today through Trust Psychiatry’s Grow Therapy profile — same clinician, in-network copay only.

Self-pay rates — posted, not negotiated

Initial psychiatric evaluation {SELF_PAY_INTAKE_RATE}. Follow-up medication management {SELF_PAY_FOLLOWUP_RATE}. Stable rate tied to visit length — not a cash discount, not a moving target.

Out-of-network superbill

If your plan offers out-of-network behavioral-health benefits, Trust Psychiatry issues a coded superbill so you can submit for partial reimbursement directly with your insurer.

Card on file at intake

A card on file is required at intake through the HIPAA-compliant Kareo portal — charged only after each visit at the verified copay or self-pay rate. No charge to verify, no charge to hold the appointment.

No-surprise-bills promise

A written benefits summary lands in your portal before the first visit. Good Faith Estimate available for self-pay under the federal No Surprises Act. The number you approve is the number you pay.

WHO WE SERVE

Which billing path fits the person on the other side of the card.

Most patients land on one of six clear paths. The intake call confirms which one fits your card and your coverage — before the first visit, before any charge.

OUR PROCESS

How insurance verification unfolds at Trust Psychiatry.

Three steps from booking to first visit. Plan IDs and behavioral-health carve-outs drift — verification is what keeps the number at checkout aligned with what your card actually covers.

01

Book the intake

Schedule online or by phone. Front and back of your insurance card upload through the HIPAA-compliant Kareo portal. Card on file required at booking, not charged until after the visit.

02

Trust Psychiatry verifies benefits

Trust Psychiatry calls the payer directly: in-network status, behavioral-health carve-out, copay, coinsurance, remaining deductible, telehealth parity, prior-auth requirements. A written summary lands in your portal.

03

First visit happens

In-office at 4500 Belvedere Rd, Suite D, or via secure telepsychiatry across Florida. Your card on file is charged at the verified copay or posted self-pay rate — the same number you saw on the summary.

WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS

Three things worth knowing about transparent billing.

Federal rules, parity law, and the published health-services literature converge on a single picture: when patients know the price and the prescriber upfront, treatment adherence and outcomes improve. Trust Psychiatry runs on that premise, end to end.

“Cost transparency before a behavioral-health visit is associated with higher attendance at intake and stronger early treatment adherence; uncertainty about price is a documented barrier to seeking psychiatric care.”

Mechanism: published copay or self-pay rates plus a written benefits summary remove the “will this be affordable?” barrier before the first visit.

“Measurement-based care — PHQ-9, GAD-7, and structured visit metrics tracked alongside billing — outperforms unstructured psychiatric care on remission, retention, and patient-reported outcomes.”

Mechanism: verified benefits remove cost friction from follow-up cadence, so measurement-based care has the room to actually work.

“Single-prescriber continuity — same clinician across intake, medication management, and follow-up — reduces handoff loss and improves long-term medication adherence relative to multi-prescriber models.”

Mechanism: the same clinician owns the chart whether the billing rail is direct Trust Psychiatry billing or the Grow Therapy bridge — no handoff, no lost context.

SCOPE — STRAIGHT

What Trust Psychiatry bills — and what falls outside this billing scope.

In scope: direct in-network billing for twelve confirmed Florida plans (Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Florida Medicaid, AvMed, Evernorth, TRICARE, M-Care, Cuare, HP, Paramount); the Grow Therapy bridge for BCBS Florida and Humana during active credentialing; posted self-pay rates with a No Surprises Act Good Faith Estimate; and coded superbills for out-of-network reimbursement when the plan supports it.

Out of scope: Trust Psychiatry does not bill third-party Medicaid Managed Care plans contracted outside Florida, and does not accept dual-eligibility special needs cases (Medicaid + Medicare SNPs, secondary-payer coordination) without a prior phone conversation. If the path is unclear, the intake call confirms it before you book.

YOUR PRESCRIBER · SAME-CLINICIAN BILLING

One prescriber. One chart. One billing path that fits your card.

Josie Desmarais, PMHNP-BC, ANCC board-certified, sole prescriber at Mental Health West Palm Beach – Trustpsychiatry. Florida APRN License 1648222 · NPI 1255877932. 16+ years at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (2007–2023) where complex coverage scenarios and same-clinician continuity were the daily caseload.

Same-clinician billing model: whether the claim runs through direct Trust Psychiatry in-network billing, the Grow Therapy bridge for BCBS Florida and Humana, or posted self-pay rates with a Trust Psychiatry superbill, the prescriber is the same person. The chart is the same chart. The only thing that changes is which entity submits the claim.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Common questions about insurance and fees.

Which insurance plans does Trust Psychiatry accept in-network?

Trust Psychiatry bills twelve Florida plans in-network directly: Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Florida Medicaid, AvMed, Evernorth, TRICARE, M-Care, Cuare, HP, and Paramount. BCBS Florida and Humana are in active credentialing and covered today via the Grow Therapy bridge described above.

I have BCBS Florida or Humana — when can I use it directly with Trust Psychiatry?

BCBS Florida and Humana are in active credentialing — the typical payer credentialing window runs 90–180 days. Until direct contracts execute, BCBS Florida and Humana members are seen at in-network rates via Trust Psychiatry’s Grow Therapy bridge. When direct credentialing closes, billing transitions to Trust Psychiatry on your next renewal. No retroactive billing.

What are the self-pay rates?

Self-pay rates are posted on this page. The initial psychiatric evaluation runs {SELF_PAY_INTAKE_RATE} for the 30–60 minute intake. Follow-up medication management runs {SELF_PAY_FOLLOWUP_RATE} for the 20–30 minute visit. Self-pay does not mean “cash discount” — it means a stable rate tied to visit length, posted before you book.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your visit at no charge. Late cancels and no-shows are billed a $75 administrative fee, not the full visit rate. The 24-hour window applies to in-office and telepsychiatry visits alike. Cancellations inside the window happen — the fee covers held clinical time, not lost revenue.

What happens if my insurance denies the claim?

Trust Psychiatry verifies benefits before the first visit specifically to avoid denied claims after the fact. If a claim is denied post-visit, Trust Psychiatry handles the appeal on your behalf where the denial is procedural. If the payer ultimately upholds the denial, you owe the posted self-pay rate — not the higher chargemaster rate. No balance-billing surprises.

Do you provide an out-of-network superbill?

Yes. If your plan offers out-of-network behavioral-health benefits, Trust Psychiatry issues a coded superbill after each visit so you can submit to your insurer for partial reimbursement. The superbill includes CPT codes, ICD-10 diagnosis, NPI, and tax identification — everything the insurer needs to process the claim.

Do you accept HSA and FSA payments?

Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for both in-network copays and self-pay visits. Psychiatric care is a qualified medical expense under IRS rules. Itemized receipts and superbills are issued through the Kareo patient portal for your records and account substantiation.

Why is a card on file required at intake?

The card on file is the standard mechanism for charging your verified copay or self-pay rate after the visit — not at booking. It also handles the $75 late-cancel or no-show administrative fee when the 24-hour window is missed. The card lives in the HIPAA-compliant Kareo billing portal, not in a Trust Psychiatry email inbox. Nothing is charged until after the appointment.

Will I get a Good Faith Estimate before the first visit?

Yes. Under the federal No Surprises Act, self-pay and uninsured patients receive a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before scheduled care. Trust Psychiatry issues a Good Faith Estimate at intake on request. If the final bill exceeds the estimate by $400 or more, the federal Patient-Provider Dispute Resolution process is available.

Does Florida Medicaid cover psychiatric visits and MAT?

Yes. Florida Medicaid covers outpatient psychiatric services and buprenorphine for opioid use disorder (verify your specific Medicaid plan’s preferred drug list at intake). Trust Psychiatry is in-network with Florida Medicaid directly, so adult psychiatric care and medication-assisted treatment are billed without an out-of-pocket cost beyond standard Medicaid cost-sharing where applicable.
