SERVICES · ADULT PSYCHIATRIC CARE
Mood, anxiety, attention, trauma, and sleep — the core territory of outpatient adult psychiatric care.
Psychiatric evaluation, ongoing medication management, MAT, telepsychiatry, supportive psychotherapy, refills, cognitive testing, and hormone therapy — pick what fits your situation.
WHY TRUST PSYCHIATRY
Three reasons West Palm Beach adults pick Trust.
Most outpatient psychiatry in Palm Beach County is out-of-network or cash-pay only. Trust is built differently — in-network billing, statewide telepsychiatry, and medication paired with supportive psychotherapy under one clinician.
The in-network moat
Direct in-network billing across 12 Florida plans — Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Medicaid (Florida), AvMed, Evernorth, TRICARE, M-Care, Cuare, HP, and Paramount. BCBS Florida and Humana are in active credentialing; those members are seen today via Trust’s Grow Therapy bridge at in-network rates. Benefits verified before the first visit so the eligible-but-not-covered surprise never happens.
FL-statewide telepsychiatry
Adults anywhere in Florida — Wellington, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tallahassee — can switch between in-person at Belvedere Rd and secure video visit-by-visit without a new intake.
Medication + therapy under one clinician
Most prescribers refer therapy out. Josie pairs psychiatric medication management with supportive psychotherapy in the same visit — one chart, one plan, no duplicate intakes between a prescriber and a separate counselor.
IN-PERSON OR TELEPSYCHIATRY · YOUR CHOICE
In-person at Belvedere Rd, or telepsychiatry across Florida — same care either way.
Pick your modality visit-by-visit. Most adults do their initial evaluation in person and then mix in-person and telepsychiatry depending on the week. Same clinician, same plan, same fees.

OUR CLINICAL MODEL
How adult outpatient psychiatry actually works at Trust.
Three principles shape every visit: medication management paired with supportive psychotherapy, measurement-based care that tracks symptoms with validated rating scales, and one clinician — Josie Desmarais, PMHNP-BC — across the full arc of treatment. Adult psychiatric outcomes improve when the prescriber, the rating scales, and the conversation about how things are going all sit in the same room.
“Most adults see meaningful symptom improvement within four to eight weeks of starting evidence-based medication management.”
Serotonin receptor downregulation, dopamine pathway titration, and HPA-axis adjustment cycles all peak between weeks 4–8 — which is why we wait before judging response.
“Long-term stabilization typically takes three to twelve months, depending on diagnosis and prior treatment history.”
Major depressive episodes stabilize fastest. Bipolar maintenance, PTSD recovery, and SUD remission trajectories require the longest titration windows.

“Josie has been a light in very very dark times. She is incredibly knowledgeable and intelligent. I couldn’t say enough good things about her. I’ve been under her care for a little over 2 years and without her I’d be at rock bottom. Wonderful and most amazing psychiatrist.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions adults ask before booking.
Which insurance plans does Trust accept?
We bill 12 Florida plans in-network directly: Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Medicaid (Florida), AvMed, Evernorth, TRICARE, M-Care, Cuare, HP, and Paramount. BCBS Florida and Humana are in active credentialing — those members are covered today via Trust’s Grow Therapy bridge (same clinician, same office, in-network rates). Benefits are verified before your first visit; if your plan isn’t listed, self-pay rates are transparent and superbills are available.
How does the first visit work?
Initial evaluations are 60 minutes — medical history, current symptoms, prior medications, treatment goals. You can do this in person at our 4500 Belvedere Rd office or via secure telepsychiatry. If medication is part of the picture, Josie will walk through evidence-based options with clear side-effect markers to watch. Follow-up visits run 30 minutes and can be in-person or telehealth, your choice each time.
Can I see Josie via telepsychiatry if I’m elsewhere in Florida?
Yes — any Florida resident can do secure video visits with Josie. Wellington, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Miami-Dade, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tallahassee — 67+ Florida counties and growing. Same evaluation, same medication management, same fees. You can switch between in-person and telehealth visit-by-visit.
Does Trust treat children, adolescents, couples, or families?
No — Mental Health West Palm Beach is an adults-only practice (18 and older). Josie does individual psychiatric care — medication management plus supportive psychotherapy. For adolescents, couples work, or family therapy, we’re happy to refer you to West Palm Beach colleagues who specialize in those modalities.
How does prescribing work — controlled substances, refills, prior auths?
Josie prescribes evidence-based medications including SSRIs, SNRIs, mood stabilizers, non-stimulant ADHD options, and stimulants when clinically appropriate. Controlled substances follow Florida state monitoring rules and require regular follow-ups. Refills, dosage adjustments, and prior-authorization paperwork are handled in-house — you don’t need to chase a separate prescriber or pharmacy department.
How quickly can I schedule a first appointment?
New patient evaluations are typically scheduled within 7–10 business days. Call (561) 849-4449 or submit the contact form — we’ll verify your Florida insurance benefits and book your evaluation on the same call. Initial evaluations run 60 minutes; follow-ups are 30 minutes.
SCHEDULE FROM ANYWHERE IN FLORIDA
The first step is the hardest. We’ll meet you there.
