Acute Suboxone (buprenorphine) withdrawal typically lasts 7 to 14 days, with the most intense symptoms occurring between Day 3 and Day 7 after the last dose. Post-acute withdrawal syndrome — known as PAWS — can persist for 2 to 6 months in the form of fatigue, sleep disruption, mood instability, anhedonia, and intermittent cravings. The total time from last dose to subjective baseline functioning varies widely between individuals and depends on starting dose, duration of treatment, taper strategy, and recovery supports in place.
